Sweet Angel

Site-specfic Public Art, Providence, 2014

Words of endearment and longing are woven into aluminium, wood and plexiglass and installed in the jewellery district in Providence, RI, USA,  a site of the slave trade. The story of the slave trade is encoded in the pattern and colour of some of the textiles that along with donated, bought and scrap materials, were used in the weaving. This work is an assertion, a reminder, an homage to that past.
